Multi-Domain (UCC/SAN) SSL Certificates

A Multi-Domain SSL allows securing several domains with just one certificate. One domain will be registered as subject / FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) and the other domains as SAN (Subject Alternative Name) according to the X.509-v3 standard. Some providers allow more than 100 domains within one certificate. Multi-domain SSL replaces the former UCC certificates (Unified Communications and Collaboration), which allowed internal IP addresses and server names. Therefore, this certificate is especially suited for Microsoft Exchange and virtual web hostings. Other common applications for this certificate are OWA, ActiveSync, SMTP, Outlook Anywhere, POP3, Unified Messaging, IMAP4.
